So, it's been a busy week so far. The film, "The Agent" was very good indeed and I am currently contemplating how and where best to review it. Signed an encouraging amount of stock for Forbidden Planet yesterday and then wandered round famous bits of London with Junior Son, who had pointed out all he's ever really seen is South Kensington, on account of trips to the museums, the Albert Hall and Picocon.
Er, right. So he got to see Charing Cross Road, Covent Garden, The Strand, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, Downing Street, the Thames with views to the Southbank, and then we legged it for the tube at Embankment and the last fast train home before off-peak restrictions kicked in. Catching it involved running up the stairs from the Bakerloo at Paddington. Memo to self - time to fit regular gym visits into the schedule again. But catch it we did - hurrah.
Oh and I have always thought of Charing Cross Road as a place for bookshops. No, with a trainee rock god in tow, it turns out to be stuffed with guitar shops. Who knew?
Today is admin and sorting stuff and then me and Junior Son are driving up to Bradford for Eastercon tomorrow. We're staying at the Midland and aiming to arrive around 4pm. My panels are
5pm Saturday, Never Trust a Book with a Dragon on the Cover
7pm Sunday, The David Gemmell Awards
12.30 pm Monday, Merging Fantasy with Reality
Looking forward to it. See you there or back here next week, as it were.
