Speculation, Fact and Fiction

This evening sees us hosting a pizza and DVD birthday gathering for younger son, now a freshly-minted teenager. Curiously there are more girls than boys on the guest list.

Tomorrow sees us heading for Stratford on Avon and the RSC's new production of Romeo and Juliet. A play I have an unreasoning hatred for, after spending my own teenage years called, well, Juliet. Time to let that go, I think. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing what Neil Bartlet does by way of direction, after his fantastic Twelfth Night. This is senior son's GCSE set text, hence our third outing to the RSC this year. Goodness.

Then dinner with pals, also by way of birthday festivities for the lad. He's doing well out of this.

Sunday is the final aikido course of the year and since we couldn't make the last one due to vile and disgusting colds, we're aiming to go, not just to train but so fourth-dan husband can have some senior-dan grade conversations with a few folk.

Monday, husband is taking one of his days of holiday still owed, so we can hopefully break the back of the Christmas shopping. I shall also want to make a start on the cards and such.
