Speculation, Fact and Fiction

It turns out today will be admin rather than writing - work and domestic.

There's a bunch of work-related stuff that really could do tackling around now. It's been sitting in the 'pending' heap and if I don't address stuff, things will become 'overdue', something I dislike.

Domestic admin will include the more physical as well as the paperwork kind.

There's some post-decorating clear-up immediately necessary so the Carpet Chap can come and measure up officially this afternoon. We went and chose carpets on Saturday and brought some of those little samplers home to confirm the colours were right etc. Since then, we've been finding the cats sleeping on the sample pieces, no matter where they have been put. Looks like a big hint from the feline members of the household.

Paperwork includes paying son's school music lesson fees, some scouting stuff, sorting out car tax, MOT - and that's likely going to mean four new tyres. Anyone reading this, feel free to go out and buy one or more of my books by way of making a contribution...

In other news, we all went up to the NEC in Birmingham yesterday for Games Day, that's Games Workshop/Warhmammer/Black Library's annual showcase event. Awesome, truly, on so many levels. There was the tabletop game play and the figure painting competition and the artwork competition. Plus previews of forthcoming computer games and an opportunity all the many variants of games there are under the GW banner as well as find your local gaming club. Plus insights into every aspect of the design, development and production processes, from the games to the figures to White Dwarf magazine.

Plus an impressive array of the talent currently writing for Black Library - with very impressive queues of folk eagerly buying their books and getting them signed. Excellent.

So that was our family day out. Now I must go and do some tidying and hoovering.
