Speculation, Fact and Fiction

We have plastering! Third party who's been messing our chap around had yet another rethink yesterday, so our chap has left him to it and let us know last night that he can give us Tues/Thurs/Fri this week and all next. Yay!

Given his proven work rate thus far, it's entirely possible we'll be done with pretty much everything barring some woodwork painting by close of play end of next week. Then we can embark on the carpets phase of this exercise and the end will truly be in sight. Wheeeee.

In other news, it seems Podiatry is a game everyone can play. Since before his actual surgery, junior son has seen a total of six 'foot folk' - and every single one has given us subtly different advice on care and treatment of the manky toe.

Just sufficiently different to enable them to give me stern looks and use a reproving 'bad parent' tone. I'm getting a trifle tired of this, not least since protesting I was only following orders leaves an historically bad taste in my mouth.

And then there's for eg having gone through considerable rigmarole to order/purchase the apparently crucial iodine spray thingy that the last one insisted I buy - no, not available on prescription according to her, even tho he's only 12 - the different lady yesterday rebuked me for using that and asserts we must revert to the previous stuff that Iodine Spray Lady said we should stop using.

I am rather too busy to write up the snippy letter to the Health Authority that I was mentally composing in the car on the way home yesterday. And the aforesaid toe is healing steadily and cleanly enough regardless, so that's the main thing really.

But still.
