So, Friday afternoon, where assorted of my writing pals tend to post the latest news on their books in progress. ( So I shall do the same. )
Anyway, I had better get back to it, since keeping to the writing schedule through September and October is going to mean absolutely no slacking given the other things I have in the diary.
The Write Fantastic will be in Birmingham next weekend, namely myself, Stan Nicholls, Chaz Brenchley, Debbie Miller and Jessica Rydill.
On Friday 14th September, we’re guests of the Birmingham SF Group, meeting in the Lichfield Room (second floor)Britannia Hotel, New Street, Birmingham. The event starts officially at 7.45pm, but attendees are advised to get there 30 minutes before that.
On Saturday 15th September, we’ll be at the BFS Open Night from 6.30pm at The Cornerhouse, 110 Edmund Street/Newhall Street, Birmingham B3 3PU.
Then of course, the weekend after that, 21st-23rd Sarah, Chaz and I will be flying TWF’s flag at FantasyCon in Nottingham.
And I will be in London on the 26th of September as the guest of the BSFA at their open night.
On Saturday October 6th, Sarah Ash, Jessica Rydill and I will be discussing reading and writing fantasy fiction for Talk Fest, Sutton’s Festival of the Word, at the Central Library from 6.30 onwards.
The weekend after that, 12th-14th October I’m in Maynooth, Ireland (easily reachable from Dublin) for Octocon 2007, where I’ll be doing assorted panels and also running a writing workshop.
And then on Friday 19th October, I’m running another creative writing workshop for the Guildford Book Festival in the afternoon, and then joining Mike Carey and Paul Magrs in The Electric Theater at 7pm to talk about the way fantasy fiction is changing these days.
TWF wrap up October in Cambridge, taking part in the Heffer’s Bookshop SF&F Evening on the 30th. I’m waiting to hear the final line-up – it’s always a good evening and I can’t see this year being any exception!
